What is tooth extraction?
Tooth extraction is simply the removal of a tooth. We understand that your goal is to keep your natural teeth healthy for a lifetime, and we strive to help you reach this goal; however, some cases and conditions may make tooth extraction the best possible treatment option. Our dentists may recommend tooth extraction for your smile if a tooth is so severely decayed or otherwise damaged that we cannot restore it with a filling, crown, or other kind of restoration. You may also need tooth removal if serious infection has destroyed a large portion of the tooth and bone, or if you have too many teeth to properly fit in your mouth. You can rest assured that if a tooth needs to be extracted, we will perform the treatment with the greatest care and skill possible. You can also feel confident that Dr. Calder and team will not recommend tooth extraction in Spring, Texas, unless it is necessary.
What is wisdom teeth removal?
The third molars, or wisdom teeth, often need to be removed. Because they are the last teeth to erupt in the mouth, there may not be enough room for the wisdom teeth to come in correctly. In these cases, our dentists may suggest having these teeth removed.
